This week’s warmer temps have most of us hoping that spring is right around the corner. As you will see from this week’s news links, we’re already thinking about gardening and outdoor exercise.

One great way to start your outdoor exercise this year is to participate in a spring walk/run event. Many of these events include shorter, family-friendly courses and special events. There are more than 10 such events scheduled in March and April alone, including the March 14 Big Ten Hoops 5K and the Race for the Cure on April 17. Great links this week!

I’m doing my very first 5K with the Race for the Cure. And I’m doing the Fishers Freedom Festival 5K in June. I’m at the end of week 2 of my Couch to 5K training program- never ever thought I’d be any kind of runner! Crazy!

I’m eager to get my garden cleared out and replanted. We learned a lot about gardening with our first garden last year.
