July is here, and the change of the calendar page has brought us much warmer temperatures. The weather definitely impacts our activities, so before we get into our weekly news links just a quick reminder to drink plenty of liquids, protect kids from the sun and take precautions when exercising outdoors.

We’ve fallen down on the charts a little (from #16 to #17). But the change is because other states are getting fatter, not because Hoosiers are getting thinner. We still have plenty to do to decrease obesity rates in our state.
Cold cereal might beat a hot breakfast

A bowl of cold cereal is better than no breakfast at all according to this study. Many cereals have healthy nutrients, and eating something for breakfast helps re-fuel the body in the morning and cuts down on snacking later.
