Sick and tired of winter

Posted by Danielle on March 7, 2011 in Danielle Spears, Fitness Motivation, Moms Only, Wellness

This winter season has been a pretty bad one for weather and health.  Not only has the city seen an ice storm, snow storms, frigid temperatures and now flooding, but it’s seen a spike in colds, coughs and flu’s, none of which has escaped my house. In fact as I sit here and write I had the lights off because of my migraine and sinus infection.

I really stopped counting how often either me or one of my children has had a cold or flu. Heck my two babies even had a case of croup a few months back.  It’s been so bad at my house this past week that I haven’t cooked, worked out or even cleaned. I’ve had no energy to do anyone of it.  I know I’m suffering longer because of that.

So, I pose a question to you other moms out there. How do you keep your family healthy during cold and flu season?

I rely heavily on washing hands, sanitizing doorknobs and hard surfaces, vitamins, and healthy food and yet we still keep coming down with things. My oldest son is in school and I know he brings a lot home with him. But what can I do to stop it?

I’m completely over all of this and would love others opinions.  Share what you do and how it works! Do you swear by certain foods or vitamins?  Let me know because I’ll try anything.
