This summer I had decided to work out more, try vegetarianism, throw out my microwave, and just live better. I have a friend that bought the P90 program and went through it successfully. I thought well, I think I’m ready. I think I can raise the bar. I’m ready.
So I did my due diligence and got online to look at video clips on YouTube. I started to ask other friends about their experiences. Some had great experiences and others, not so great. [Deep sigh]
I went ahead and ordered it.
It arrived when I was away so my neighbor took it in. When I got it from her, she said to me, “What in the world are you about to do?” YIKES!! What am I about to do?
I opened the box and I instantly became overwhelmed. I had to remind myself I’m ready for this. I have developed the discipline for this. [Deep Breath] I spoke with my life coach – my daughter. She once again reminded me that discipline is the key to fitness.
I needed to hear it outside of my brain. We talked about motivation and focus. She spoke again how basketball was her motivation. Because of her love of the game, she stayed focused on being in shape as much as she hated running every day. She knew it would get her to her goal – basketball.
I really appreciated the pep talk. I have to get mentally ready for these 90 days. Preparation will be key and I need to be thoughtful about it.
So how will I prepare?
- Water, Water, and more Water – I know I need to increase my daily intake of water
- Reduce my intake of sugary products
- Increase my workouts gradually
- Eat balanced meals - specific to working out at this level
- Meditate – keeping my mind balanced
- Continue to enjoy life!
I believe in myself. I believe I can do it.
