Hi. My name is Lisa Vielee. I’m a newly re-married mother of two daughters and four step-children. Yes, it’s a houseful, but I love it. While working out of my home and being the family sports chauffeur doesn’t make it any easier to eat healthier, I seriously do try to set a good example for the kids.

When I was trying to lose a little weight to fit into my wedding dress, I kept a food journal to keep those days to a minimum. It helped me lose 10 pounds!

But you know what? It is hard to write a blog about healthy living when you’d rather snack on a bag of CheetosĀ®. Although I’ve worked with FitCity for a number of years, even serving as the interim director, I still struggle with getting the junk food out of my house.

I’ve read a number of articles about the value of adding fruits and vegetables to meals. So I put the grapes and carrot sticks into my kids’ school lunches, and keep the Girl Scout cookies and other snacks for me!

In the coming months, I will share our fitness and health tips and family activities so you can hear what works for our family (and what doesn’t). I hope you will share what works for you and your family as well.

I have a feeling the FitCity Moms blog is going to work even better than my food journal for keeping me motivated to stay active, eat healthier and keep my kids fit. I hope it can be your online fit journal too.
