My name is Rhonda L. Bayless and I’m so very happy to be a part of this wonderful community of Fit Moms. Just a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Indianapolis. I attended Warren Center High School and Franklin College, and I’m the single mother of a beautifully healthy and happy 19-year-old daughter.
Interesting enough, as I was growing up, health was always on the forefront of my mind. My younger brother was an athlete, my mother was very conscious about healthy eating, and I had three uncles and two cousins with muscular dystrophy. We always had health, in some form, on our minds, physically, mentally, and spiritually.
For many years, I worked as the program director for a HIV/AIDS program targeting women. This really helped me to see the complexes of womanhood outside of my family of six aunts and many female cousins. I loved working in the community. My daughter would tag along for my community work, helping in food pantries, health fairs, etc. We believe that this is so important to our health. We must give back. Even today, as my daughter is in college, she’s trying to figure out if she should become a nurse or social worker. I think she’s on the right track.
My personal health journey is like a great roller coaster ride of ups and downs but a great journey nonetheless. I’ve decided to take up jogging and reduce my intake of all meats. I’m trying to think more holistically about my health and to help other women start their journeys as well through my own nonprofit for women.
I look forward to sharing and learning from you all.
Be well…

Nice to meet you!
I’m a former social worker (I worked in therapeutic foster care in Ohio for a few years). My dad is a doctor so I’ve been around nurses a lot. both are great careers with a lot of opportunities for giving back tot he community.
I look forward to getting to know you better!
Hi Rhonda, I am riding on that same roller coaster! Look forward to hearing more from you on how to make the ride a little smoother.
I think most women fare better if they have someone to share the journey. Looking forward to learning more about yours.
